«Gesicht 35»: the story behind a work

«Gesicht 35» is one of the works that visitors look at the longest. The portrait measures 90 x 90 cm and is painted in acrylic on canvas.

A spontaneous gesture

It all started with a single, quick brushstroke. Over several weeks, Heidi Thöni developed a face from it, layer by layer, until the eyes held the viewer's gaze.

The eyes act as the emotional centre of my works.

The work can be seen in the Freeart Studio gallery. We are happy to answer any enquiries about it in person.
